"Research shows that students who spend 20 minutes per day reading books independently are exposed to 1.8 million words per year and score in the 90th percentile on standardized tests." (Anderson, R.C. "Growth in Reading and How Children Spend Their Time Outside of School." Reading Research Quarterly 28 (3) p. 292. 1998.
Help us to provide access and choice for our students in our library...parents who are involved with their child's access to books help to strengthen the bonds between reading and learning...and kids who choose books are more likely to read!
Welcome to the Westminster Christian Academy Libraries. We offer full library services to our K-12th grade students, faculty and staff. We are excited about a new school year and the adventures we will encounter with our new books, new teachers, new students, and new families.
The elementary library at our Madison/Monrovia campus (M/M Campus) is open from 8:00-3:00 each day. Students have scheduled classes as well as flexible time to check out books and do research. In addition, teachers may check out books for class use or put books on reserve for specific projects.
Our middle school and high school library on our Brockway Campus is open from 7:30-3:45 each day. Students may come to the library before or after school, during study hall, lunch, or with their classes. In addition, teachers may check out books for class use or put books on reserve for specific projects. There are currently eight desktop computers available for student use. The upper school library is designed to be a place for study and research for faculty and students alike.
